Privacy Policy

Daringo is a private party game. This policy explains what data the app stores, why, where it lives, and how you get rid of it. The short version: we store what the game needs to work, we show it only to the people you play with, and we don't do anything else with it.

Who is responsible

Vucak IT Solutions (Sven Vucak), Austria, operates the app and is the data controller. Contact for anything in this policy: office@vucak.at or the contact form.

What we store

• Account data: your email address (used only for signing in), a display name, a unique handle, and an avatar - a colour or, if you choose, a profile photo you upload.
• Game data: the games you are part of, the dares on their boards, your claims and votes, and the photos and videos you upload as proof of dares.
• Safety data: reports you file about content, and the list of players you have blocked.
• Notification data: only if you turn on push notifications - a notification token for your device and that device's app language, linked to your account, so game events (votes needed, verdicts on your photos and videos, wins) can reach your phone in your language. Game events only, never marketing. The token is deleted when you sign out or delete your account, and stale tokens are removed automatically.
• Usage statistics: only if you turn them on (in the app: Profile → Usage data; off by default) - anonymous statistics about which features are used and how often, your device model, operating system and app version, and your country (derived from a masked IP address that is not stored). They are tied to a random app-instance ID, not to your account, and never include names, photos, videos, dares or advertising identifiers. Processed by Google Analytics for Firebase. You can switch them off again at any time, and the data expires after two months.
• Crash reports: if the app crashes, a technical report - what went wrong, the device model, operating system and app version, no photos or videos and no game content - is sent to Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix the bug. Reports carry a random installation ID and are not linked to your account.

That's the whole list. There are no ads, no third-party trackers, no advertising identifiers, and no precise location data. Your photos and videos are never used for anything except showing them to the members of the game they were taken for.

Why we store it (legal basis)

• Account and game data are processed to provide the game you signed up for (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Reports and blocks are processed to keep the app safe, including keeping a copy of a reported photo or video for up to 90 days after its owner removed it (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Notification tokens are processed only with your consent - the notification prompt in the app (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time by turning notifications off in the app or in your system settings.
• Usage statistics are processed only with your consent - the switch in the app (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time by switching them off again.
• Crash reports are processed to keep the app working (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Where it lives

Data is stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage; push notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging; usage statistics and crash reports go to Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics), operated by Google LLC. Google processes data under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Photos and videos are protected by access rules: only members of the game a proof belongs to can read it. Photos are resized, videos are re-encoded shorter and smaller, and both are stripped of metadata - including any location - before they leave your phone. A video also uploads a still frame from it, so the game has something to show while the video is still on its way.

Who can see what

• Your display name, handle and avatar are visible to people you share a game with, including in games that have ended. Deleting your profile photo, or your account, removes it everywhere.
• Your photos, videos, claims and votes are visible only to members of that game.
• Nothing is public. There is no feed, no search, and no discovery of people or games.
• We never sell data or share it with third parties for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Until you delete it. Deleting your account (in the app: Profile → Account → Delete account) erases your profile immediately and frees your handle. Photos, videos and claims inside games remain part of those games for the other players - use the contact form if you want specific proof removed and we will handle it.

That includes proof the crew voted down: when you try a square again, the rejected photo or video is kept with its verdict and comments as that square's history, visible only to the players in that game.

If you withdraw a claim before the crew has voted, its photo or video is deleted from our storage right away. An old profile photo goes the same way the moment you replace or remove it.

One exception: if a photo or video was reported by another player before it was removed, we keep a copy for up to 90 days where no player can see it, so we can act on the report. After that it is deleted.

Usage statistics are kept for two months and crash reports for 90 days, then deleted automatically.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, ask for a copy in a portable format, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority - in Austria, the Datenschutzbehörde (dsb.gv.at). For any of these, email office@vucak.at.

Children

The app is intended for ages 16 and up and rated accordingly in the app stores. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will say so. The current version always lives at this address.
